Inheriting the timeless elegance of traditional Japanese garments and proven craftsmanship, in 2023, Wasuian proudly celebrated the 60th anniversary of its company, Idaseni Co., Ltd. The company was established in 1963 as a kimono apparel manufacturer and the brand Wasuian, which was launched later, has now become Japan's leading samue brand.

Thanks to our customers, we have grown the brand into one with the largest selection of samue, with a wide variety of fabrics, colors, and sizes for you to choose from.

But, sometimes, it is hard to choose an item from such a vast selection. So, here are some of our customers' highly recommended samue, along with their comments. We hope it will help you choose the samue for you and/or for someone special.

I am making a pilgrimage to the 88 temples of Shikoku Island, plus 20 other temples. Whenever I make a pilgrimage, I always wear a samue purchased from Wasuian. Among the four samue I have, I have three of yours, and I especially like the Kasuri Tsumugi samue in both color and fabric. All of them are easy to work in, but I especially like the dark brown color, which is the samue I recommend.

I have been wearing samue as home wear for about 10 years now. I was particular about natural materials and bought cotton products from various places, but something about them didn't feel right to wear, and they looked cheap. Since I came across Wasuian's Kasuri Tsumugi Samue, I now live only in this samue and setta sandals. Thank you for everything.

Good texture. The longer it is used, the better it feels.

The indescribable roughness and feel of the thick sashiko fabric is the best! I wear it in the winter in Hokkaido, and it's nice and warm.

The feel and weight of the garment are truly a genuine piece that deserves to be called “samue.”

Warm, and perfect for winter wear.

The pattern is good and the fabric is thick. At a quick glance, it appears to be like Japanese tie-dying. (So shibori)

It is so breathable that when there is a breeze, it blows through, and cools the body. Furthermore, because it is made of synthetic fibers, it does not need to be ironed and always looks beautiful when worn. I also own a 3055 Cotton Twill Weave Samue and a 2060 Cotton-Ramie Shijira Samue, both of which require ironing after washing. The linen-like samue has a shiny texture, and my friends compliment me on how nice it looks on me.

I like denim and have an 11 oz. and chambray, but this 6 oz. is the most versatile denim samue to wear through the seasons, and the moderate thickness of the fabric makes it easy to wear.

Even in winter, it is OK if you put a turtleneck or something inside. It is a piece of clothing that can be worn and loved deeply for a long time.

I like the color and comfort of the samue! I was a bit hesitant before I ordered it, but when I actually bought it and tried it on, it was more comfortable than I thought it would be. Then, I purchased samue for each season and I'm very satisfied with all of them.

It's very comfortable and when I change into a samue, since I can switch myself from work mode to relaxing mode.

The fabric is firm and warm. I had never thought of this item as a gift for a friend before. I think it is very rare for people to buy samue for themselves. (only in my opinion!). However, I think the recipient will be very pleased because it is a rare item, and I think anyone who receives it will become one of many new samue fans.

It is light and soft, and very comfortable to wear. When it gets cold, you just need to put something else under it so that you can wear this samue in all seasons. I think I found something very nice.

I used to wear cotton pants and regular work clothes before I found the samue at Wasuian. But once I started wearing the samue, I found it easier to work in, and since there are not many people wearing samue around me, it has become a useful item for my customers to recognize me.

It feels very cool. I purchased it as a gift because it is comfortable and functional. I look forward to visiting the store because they have a wide variety of samue.

In addition to the samue introduced here, we have also received many other comments on the items such as Kasuri Tsumugi Mizuyagi, COOLMAX® Seersucker Samue, Persimmon-dyed Zudabukuro "Honkakishibu", and so on. We received many kind words of love from many customers and we appreciate all of your messages. The customers' feedback always encourages us to continue to improve the quality of our items and helps us move forward. Thank you very much!
