How It Fits:
Relaxed and roomy. The sleeves come to about full length, similar to those of a women’s long coat.

What I Love About It:
I was pleasantly surprised by how warm this coat is. The wool-blend fabric and lining provide plenty of warmth, making it comfortable to wear in cold weather.

Its relaxed, traditional Japanese fit leaves plenty of room for wearing thicker layers such as sweaters underneath.

The overlapping front, created by the samue-style design, also adds an extra layer of warmth around the waist and stomach.

How I Like to Wear It:
The coat pairs naturally not only with samue, but also with everyday Western clothing.

The neckline is slightly open, so on colder days, adding a scarf or a high-neck top can provide extra warmth.

A Closer Look at the Fit and Design:
I especially like the collar, which gently widens toward the hem and features soft, rounded lines. When worn, these curves create a graceful and gentle silhouette.

This samue coat was actually developed based on a long coat traditionally worn with women’s kimono. The cross-shaped cord closure is another subtle detail that adds to its character.
