This is a scene from a New Year's gathering with the family a few years ago.
That year, the New Year's gifts from my mother to the family members were samue for the guys and mizuyagui for the ladies.
She sent us the photos of the colors and designs of the products to our LINE, and each of us chose the one we liked.
It would have been nice to have a group photo of everyone wearing samue and mizuyagi, but all we have is this photo of the mess we made eating and drinking, which is a little regrettable (lol)

As I don't have any hobbies or lifestyle that would involve Japanese-style clothing, at first I didn't know what to wear it for and just put it away. But after I realized that it surprisingly goes well with both a samue worn over a hoodie and a mizuyagui worn over jeans, I've been wearing it on a daily basis.

The last photo was taken the other day, and it's my husband, who became a care recipient after suffering a stroke two years ago.
Sashiko fabric keeps him warm, so it's perfect for my husband, who has become sensitive to the cold since his stroke. I find the mizuyagui very convenient for me, as I often have to wash my hands and roll up my sleeves when looking after him. So, I was looking for a website to buy more of them when I found out about this photo contest.

Now I'm very grateful that my mother gave me such a wonderful gift.
I hope that even those who have no connection to Japanese clothing will enjoy wearing it casually in their own way. Sorry for the long comment!
